Teeth whitening can be so harsh and dreadful. Going to a dentist, getting impressions of your teeth made, then paying a ton of money for the refills of gel, or using those bloody strips. Yuck! Something about putting those strips on my teeth feels so icky to me. And then letting them sit on there for 20 minutes?! I can hardly stand one-two minutes. Not to mention the sensitivity of the gums after bleaching. OUCH!
So, I decided to look into
a more natural way to whiten my teeth using essential oils. I have heard of using
activated charcoal, but that just doesn’t fit with my routine. I thought, “What
can I fit into my daily routine to whiten my teeth naturally?” hmmmmm….good
questions!
Well, believe it or not,
Wild Orange essential oil is a great alternative, and you only have to use it 3
times a week. Can’t beat that!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Wild Orange Essential Oil from Spark Naturals
- Toothpaste of your choice (something like Tom’s is great if you are looking for a more natural, fluoride free toothpaste)
- Your toothbrush
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Once a day, every other day (so about three times a week), apply two drops of Wild Orange Essential Oil to your toothbrush bristles, then put your toothpaste on your toothbrush bristles.
- Brush your teeth
- That’s it!
You should start noticing a
change in the color of your teeth within a few days. Easy at that, my friends!
There are so many other
uses for Wild Orange Essential Oil. Add two drops to a GLASS water bottle full
of water or a cup of water to “spike” your beverage. It makes for a great water
flavoring! Wild Orange Essential Oil is also great in an essential oil
diffuser. Simply add about 8 drops to your diffusers water and let that baby
roll! MMMM! (I like to add a few drops of patchouli or cinnamon during the fall to make my
house smell delicious!)
